On November 26, during a two-day working visit of Tatarstan delegation in Uzbekistan, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov met Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The meeting participants discussed many issues on the development of economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and Tatarstan as one of the industrially developed regions of Russia.
Minnikhanov thanked Mirziyoyev for finding time for a meeting and paying serious attention to issues of bilateral cooperation.
“This working visit gave a major impetus to our cooperation. We have good growth rates in mutual trade. But we should not stop there. The exchange of delegations, the exploration of each other’s opportunities is important for all of us, we should work on increasing the volume and range of mutual deliveries of goods and services,” Tatarstan President emphasized.
During the meeting, the parties substantively discussed issues on the expansion of the presence of leading Tatarstan companies in the Uzbek market. Namely, the implementation of projects of such companies as KAMAZ Automaker on the increase of the supply of trucks and spare parts, Tatneft Oil Company on the expansion the supply of petrochemical products and the network of gas stations, Khimgrad Company on the creation of an industrial park in the Tashkent region, Eidos-Medicine Company on the modernization of the healthcare system and others.
They also discussed issues on the increase of products supplies of Uzbek companies to Tatarstan and problems of strengthening interaction in science and education, cooperation in culture, sports and tourism were raised.
At the end of the meeting, Minnikhanov invited Mirziyoyev to visit Tatarstan during his visit to the Russian Federation.
