On November 26, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, who is on a two-day working visit in Uzbekistan, visited the Tashkent Agricultural Machinery Plant.
The agricultural machinery plant in Tashkent produces various modifications of tractors, trailers and cotton-harvesting machines.
The plant's serial products are in demand on the domestic market and occupies more than 80 per cent of the Uzbekistan market. Currently, UzAvtosanoat (Uzavtoprom) is considering the sales of agricultural equipment through dealer networks abroad or the establishment of trading houses with the possibility of launching assembly plants at the local level.
In 2018, the plant produced 11.5 thousand units of various modifications of agricultural machinery.
According to Minnikhanov, agricultural production occupies a significant place in the economy of Uzbekistan. For timely sowing, harvesting, transportation and high-quality production of agricultural products for the agricultural sector, modern and high-performance agricultural equipment is required. High-quality agricultural machinery is in demand and is supplied to neighboring countries with similar climatic and environmental conditions. The main consumers of the manufactured equipment are local farms and agricultural producers of neighboring Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and other countriess.
