Rustam Minnikhanov suggests Secretary General of Alwaleed Philanthropies charitable foundation developing Islamic culture projects

On November 14, during the second World Tolerance Summit in Dubai (the United Arab Emirates), Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with Secretary General of Alwaleed Philanthropies charitable foundation, Saudi Arabia Princess Lamia Bint Majed Al Saud.

Minnikhanov noted that the Russian leadership attaches great importance to cooperation with Muslim countries. The Russian Federation became an observer in the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation in 2005.

A significant amount of work is being carried out under the Russia-Islamic World Strategic Vision Group, which Tatarstan President has been heading on the instructions of the Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Minnikhanov also informed about the experience of Tatarstan on the revival of religious sites, strengthening interethnic and interreligious harmony. Tatarstan President invited the Saudi Arabia Princess to visit Tatarstan during her next visit to Russia.

The Princess informed out the Alwaleed Philanthropies charitable foundation, which operates in 180 countries. The Fund implements charitable projects in education, health care, disaster management, the fight for women's rights and the development of dialogue between cultures.

The Fund holds various events in European countries and introduces their residents the Islamic culture. Minnikhanov praised this work. He suggested developing joint participation in these events.
