Due to the assignment of a name to Begishevo airport, Rustam Minnikhanov suggests announcing a contest for the best design of the airport

On November 13, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, who arrived on a working visit in Nizhnekamsk municipal region to take part in a solemn event dedicated to the celebration of 90 anniversary of the first Director General of Nizhnekamskneftekhim Petrochemical Company Nikolay Lemaev, got acquainted with the design project of the Begishevo International Airport.

In May 2019, by decree of Russian President, the Begishevo International Airport was named after Nikolay Lemaev.

In October of the current year, at a meeting in the Public Chamber of Tatarstan, the participants discussed the design of the Kazan and Begishevo International Airports named after Tatar poet Gabdulla Tukay and Lemaev accordingly.  

The Begishevo is supposed to focus on the industrial potential of Tatarstan, the establishment and development of the entire Zakamsk region and the role of Lemaev in this.

Today, during the presentation of the Begishevo airport project, Minnikhanov asked to announce a contest for the best airport design.
