Tatarstan President holds a meeting with Chief Editor of the Echo of Moscow Alexey Venediktov

On October 9, at the Government House of the republic, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov together with the Head of Tatarstan President Press Office Eduard Khairullin held a meeting with Chief Editor of the Echo of Moscow radio station Alexey Venediktov. 

The meeting participants discussed a number of questions about the importance of the native language in the life of the peoples of Russia, the teaching of religious history at schools and the role of the Tatars in world history.

Minnikhanov also invited Venediktov to visit the exhibition “The Golden Horde and the Black Sea region. Lessons of the Genghis Khan’s Empire ” in the Hermitage-Kazan Exhibition Centre.

Since 2018, “We Speak Tatar” programme has been broadcast at the country's leading political radio station, where the audience gets acquainted with the Russian words of Tatar origin.
