Rustam Minnikhanov meets Director General of the Almazov National Medical Research Centre

On October 3, at their meeting at the Government House of the republic, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Director General of the Almazov National Medical Research Centre Evgeny Shlyakhto discussed issues of strengthening cooperation between Tatarstan and the Almazov National Centre, in particular, in the field of development of the cardiology service of the republic.

The Research Institute of Cardiology (the Almazov National Medical Research Centre) was founded in St. Petersburg in 1980 by the initiative of Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Vladimir Almazov. The centre is a leading scientific and medical facility in the country, carrying out fundamental and applied research in the field of cardiology and cardiovascular surgery, hematology, rheumatology, endocrinology, pediatrics, molecular biology and genetics, cell, information and nanotechnology.
