Rustam Minnikhanov meets the delegation of Aktyubinsk region of the Republic of Kazakhstan

On September 26, at the Kazan Kremlin, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov together with Deputy Prime Minister of the republic – Tatarstan Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov, Deputy Prime Minister Vasil Shaikhraziev, Aide to Tatarstan President Radik Gimatdinov and Head of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Taliya Minullina had a meeting with Akim of Aktyubinsk region of Kazakhastan Ondasyn Urazalin.

Minnikhanov thanked the leadership of the Aktyubinsk region for their interest in the interaction with Tatarstan. He said that an Agreement on cooperation between Tatarstan and the Aktyubinsk region and the Action Plan for its implementation were signed during the Russia - Kazakhstan Interregional Cooperation Forum in Chelyabinsk in 2017.

He emphasized that the Tatarstan-Kazakhstan trade turnover exceeded 700 million US dollars in the last two years. At the same time, there is the potential to bring this indicator to one billion US dollars. “The regional enterprises are interested in expanding trade, economic and investment relations under the Eurasian Economic Union and development of a common transport and logistics potential,” Minnikhanov said.

Tatarstan President noted that there are good opportunities for the development of cooperation with the Aktyubinsk region. He said that Tatarstan is a leader among the entities of the Russian Federation in a number of socio-economic indicators and produces a wide range of industrial and agricultural products. Active work for the development of infrastructure for business, the establishment of public spaces and other areas is underway.

He asked to put great emphasis on the development of cooperation with Kazakhstan partners in culture, science, education, sports and tourism and added that over 1,300 Kazakhstan students are studying at the regional universities. The National Cultural Autonomy of the Kazakhs of Tatarstan is actively working.

In his turn, Urazalin emphasized that cooperation between Tatarstan and the Kazakhstan region is developing under friendly Russian-Kazakh relations.

He expressed interest in cooperation with Tatarstan in geological exploration and the development of oil and gas resources, in agriculture, the establishment of special economic zones and the development of cultural and educational relations.

During the working visit to Tatarstan, the Kazakh delegation visited the Kazan Agro-Industrial Park, the Himgrad technopolis, the science city Innopolis and also got acquainted with the economic potential of Tatarstan at the Investment Development Agency of the republic.
