Aleksey Pesoshin meets a delegation from the Union of Turkic World Municipalities

On September 23, at the Government House of the republic, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin had a meeting with a delegation from the Union of Turkic World Municipalities.  

Pesoshin noted that Turkey is one of the leading foreign partners of Tatarstan. According to the results of the first half of 2019, the foreign trade turnover between the two countries has amounted to more than 260 million US dollars. The leading Turkish companies such as Kastamonu Entegre, Hayat Kimya, Şişecam and others are actively developing their projects in the republic. The number of bilateral visits is growing, he went on to say. 

“At present, there are 956 municipalities in the Republic of Tatarstan, including 43 municipal regions, 2 urban districts, and 39 urban settlements. About 3 million of 3.9 million people live in cities and urban settlements, 900 thousand live in rural areas,” the Prime Minister said.

According to Pesoshin, the municipalities of Tatarstan have twinning ties with 17 Turkish cities. He thanked President of the Union of Turkic World Municipalities Uğur İbrahim Altay for his continuous assistance in establishing ties between the municipalities of Tatarstan and Turkey.

In his turn, Uğur İbrahim Altay expressed gratitude to the leadership of Tatarstan for the high level of organization of the delegation’s visit, and told Pesoshin about the activities of the Union and the development of cooperation with Tatarstan.
