Tatarstan President meets former Head of Tatarstan Ministry of Agriculture and Food Marat Akhmetov and his successor Marat Zyabbarov

On September 18, at the Government House of the republic, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov met former Head of Tatarstan Ministry of Agriculture and Food Marat Akhmetov and Acting Prime Minister of the republic – Tatarstan Minister of Agriculture and Food Marat Zyabbarov.

Tatarstan President signed a decree to appoint Zyabbarov Acting Prime Minister of the republic – Tatarstan Minister of Agriculture and Food. Akhmetov, who has headed the Ministry since 1999, resigned from the post due to his election the people’s deputy of Tatarstan State Council of the sixth convocation.

Minnikhanov thanked Akhmetov for his significant contribution to the development of the agro-industrial complex - one of the main sectors of the economy of the republic.

He also wished Zyabbarov success in his new post and noted that the well-being of those who live and work in rural areas depends on the agricultural policy. Tatarstan President added that the current priority is to complete the harvesting campaign and cultivate the fields for the future harvest.
