On August 22, via video-conferencing, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev and Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in the commissioning ceremony of the CDU/VDU-6 installation at the TATNEFT's TANECO Oil Refining Complex in Nizhnekamsk.
Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia Denis Manturov took part in the event.
Director General of Tatneft Oil Company Nail Maganov reported on the development strategy of the largest investment project in the Russian oil refining industry – TANECO. He noted that the high level of technology at TANECO makes it possible to work with a maximum refining depth of 99 per cent and a yield of light oil products of 84 per cent.
The refinery produces high-quality and competitive petroleum products that meet international standards, Maganov said.
He also said that Tatneft Oil Company invested more than 380 billion roubles in the implementation of the TANECO project.
According to Maganov, today oil will be refined at the place of its production. Russian specialists were involved in the implementation of the project aimed at the use of Russian solutions and Russian equipment as much as possible.
Today 5,500 people work at the site, Maganov continued.
The commissioning of the CDU/VDU-6 installation is an important part of a large-scale programme. The estimated capacity of the new installation is 6 million tonnes of crude oil per year. With the launch of the CDU/VDU-6 installation, the total design capacity of the primary processing plant has increased up to 15.3 million tonnes per year.
He also said that company feels significant support from the Government of the Russian Federation in the implementation of the project.
“Please give us the green light to the commissioning of the new installation,” Maganov said, referring to the Prime Minister of Russia.
Medvedev noted that he took part in the opening of the first installation almost 10 years ago. He stated that TANECO produces the products necessary for the economy of our country. Moreover, Medvedev noted that the project provides an opportunity for creating new highly productive jobs.
“I congratulate you on this event. Let us start commissioning the installation,” Medvedev addressed the TANECO’s staff.
