Rustam Minnikhanov gets acquainted with the reconstruction process of the Kazan National Cultural Centre and looks around the embankment of the Kazanka River

On July 16, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov got acquainted with the reconstruction process of the Kazan National Cultural Centre, the improvement of the surrounding area and looked around the embankment of the Kazanka River.

The inspection started at the Khrushchev pier (near State Inspectorate for Small Vessels of the Emergency Situations Ministry) and continued towards the bridge of the Kremlin transport dam.

Aide to Tatarstan President Natalia Fishman introduced the project of landscaping this part of the embankment and the possibility of a pedestrian walkway to the upper embankment.

Tatarstan Minister of Culture Irada Ayupova informed about the reconstruction process of the Kazan National Cultural Centre building and the location of the National Library of the republic there. A book depository, reading rooms, areas for communication and a café will be located here after the reconstruction.

Director General of Nekrasov Central Universal Scientific Library in Moscow Maria Privalova made her suggestions on filling the library with modern books and the establishment of  a “point of attraction” here because of its current location.

Minnikhanov gave an errand to think through the functions of the new library building.

Near the Millennium Bridge, Minnikhanov got acquainted with a project of a youth extreme park, including the creation of sports facilities for team sports and also about a project on the establishment of a youth training centre.

A new public space will be established under the Millennium Bridge and on empty squares in the area of ​​Podluzhnaya Street.
