Rustam Minnikhanov meets Russian trade representatives in foreign countries

On July 10, at the Government House of the republic, during the “Trade Representatives Weeks”, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with trade representatives of the Russian Federation in foreign countries. The delegation included trade representatives of Russia in Azerbaijan, Belarus, Iran, Norway, Turkmenistan and Ukraine.

Tatarstan President emphasized the important role of trade representative offices in the development of mutually beneficial cooperation with foreign partners.

Minnikhanov added that Tatarstan is actively developing international relations and organizes mutual visits of official and business delegations. Consulates General of a number of foreign countries are working in Kazan. Tatarstan has 24 representative offices, including 15 of them abroad.

Last year, the foreign trade turnover of Tatarstan amounted to 19 billion US dollars, including over 15 billion US dollars are export supplies. “The oil production and refining industries, petrochemistry are developed in Tatarstan. Engineering products are also supplied,” Tatarstan President said. Minnikhanov added that a great deal of work is being done today with foreign investors. Thus, Tatarstan attracted over 590 million US dollars foreign investment in 2018.

During the meeting, heads of Russian trade representatives discussed the current trade and economic interaction of Tatarstan with foreign partners, the export activities of regional enterprises, the promotion of their products to foreign markets and other promising areas for the development of cooperation. Deputy Prime Minister of the republic - Tatarstan Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov, Aide to Tatarstan President Radik Gimatdinov, Head of Tatarstan State Committee on Tourism Sergey Ivanov, Chairman of Tatarstan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Shamil Ageev and representatives of ministries of the republic took part in the meeting.
