On July 5, during his working visit to Moscow, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov visited the Universal University of Creative Industries and the Garage Museum of Contemporary Art.

Head of Universal University Ekaterina Cherkes-Zade told Minnikhanov about educational programmes offered by the university. Founded in 2003, the university employs more than 900 teachers and about 200 members of staff who ensure the effective work of the university, runs more than 200 educational programmes and courses that develop almost all modern areas of the creative industry. As many as 3,800 students were enrolled in 2018.

Later the same day Minnikhanov visited the Garage Museum of Contemporary Art. An extensive programme of exhibition, educational, scientific and publishing activities conducted by the Garage Museum reflects the current processes in Russian and international culture and opens up opportunities for public dialogue and the creation of new works of art.

Spaces occupied by the museum play one of the key roles in the development of a modern approach to the establishment of a museum that meets the needs of both art and the public. Founded in 2008 by Darya Zhukova and Roman Abramovich, the Garage Museum of Contemporary Art is the first philanthropic organization in Russia aimed at the development of modern art and culture.

Minnikhanov also visited the Central Gorky Park,  where he looked around playgrounds, children's recreation areas and other thematic areas of the park.

Tatarstan President was accompanied by Aide to Tatarstan President Natalia Fishman, Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin and other officials.
