On June 23, at the Kazan Kremlin, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Turkmenistan President Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov took part in a ceremony of signing cooperation agreements between a number of universities and enterprises of Tatarstan and Turkmenistan.
A memorandum of cooperation between the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan and the Kazan State Power Engineering University, a cooperation agreement between the Institute of Telecommunications and Informatics of Turkmenistan and Innopolis University, a cooperation agreement between the Turkmen State Institute of Economics and Management are among the documents signed. A memorandum of understanding was signed between the Turkmenkhimiya State Concern and IED-Holding engineering company, a memorandum of understanding between the State Concern Turkmennebit and Tatneft Oil Company on cooperation in the supply KAMAZ brand vehicles and technical support.
Speaking about the documents signed, Berdymukhamedov noted that Russia and Tatarstan remain strategic partners for his country. Turkmenistan is interested in purchasing of engineering products of Tatarstan and it is expected to supply about 2,000 KAMAZ trucks under the signed agreements.
Minnikhanov emphasized that it is a great honor for the republic to host Turkmenistan delegation. “I am sure this visit will be a significant event in the history of our fraternal peoples and will further strengthen the friendship between Russia and Turkmenistan. Our peoples are linked by deep historical and spiritual universities, fruitful relations in trade, economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation. We held meaningful negotiations, signed important documents and gave a good impetus to further strengthening of bilateral cooperation,” Minnikhanov said.
