Russian President congratulates Tatarstan citizens and guests of the republic on Sabantuy

On June 23, the President of Russia Vladimir Putin sent a congratulatory telegram to all participants of Sabantuy – the Holiday of Plough, noting a special atmosphere of joy, openness, hospitality, and sincere, friendly human communication that prevails in Tatarstan.

“This ancient holiday, which has come to us from the depths of the ages, symbolizes respect for creative work of cultivators and is an important, integral part of our cultural code, the richest historical, spiritual heritage. Paying tribute to the traditions and customs of their ancestors, representatives of various ethnicities celebrate this holiday in many regions of Russia.

As centuries ago, Sabantuy unites people. Preparing for it in advance, people hold merry folk festivals, sporting events, concerts, games and competitions in cities and villages during this holiday.

Today, there is a special atmosphere of joy, openness, hospitality, and sincere, friendly human communication in Tatarstan, in the heart of the festivity.
