Farid Mukhametshin: “First of all, we must satisfy needs of republican domestic grain market”

Having inspected fields of the Nizhnekamsk region, the State Counselor and Minister of agriculture and foodstuff met with chiefs of local agricultural enterprises, heads of settlements, and farmers. According to Farid Mukhametshin, harvest campaign is yielding quite good results.

The Tatarstan President is satisfied with course of harvesting. However, agricultural workers must speed up, the Minister of agriculture and foodstuff stressed. He informed that coming cyclone will bring rain, that is, on the one hand, good for agricultural sector, on the other hand, it will complicate harvesting. As for dry weather faced by many regions of the country, Marat Akhmetov said that in comparison with last year shortfall in grain yield can make about 30 percent. However, the increasing demand will compensate losses.

Head of the Nizhnekamsk region Aidar Metshin assured that agrarians would finish harvesting within10-11 days. He thanked republican authorities for supporting the agricultural sector noting that by certain figures the situation in the region had been regulated.

In the interview, Farid Mukhametshin said that harvest campaign is being efficiently realized. For now, about 70 percent of works has been performed. Head of the parliament is satisfied with weather conditions enabling gathering the harvest in due time and prepare fields for sowing winter crops.

“At the meetings with chiefs of settlements we discuss other issues as well, such as dynamics of increasing business activity in rural areas, development of private subsidiary farming, construction of family farms and preparation of schools for new academic year. The republican leadership meets with each agricultural producer, heads of settlements, and specialists in order to promote their activity,” the State Council Chairman said.
