Rustam Minnikhanov takes part in the sessions and discussions of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum - 2019

On June 6, at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in an energy panel “The Global Economy in Search of a Balance”.

CEO, Chairman of the Board of Rosneft Company Igor Sechin reported on analytical studies of promising trends in the development of energy markets and the global oil and gas industry.

The Energy Panel session provided a complete analysis of the sustainable development of the oil and gas industry, emphasizing its geographical diversity. During the discussion, the participants exchanged views on trends in energy markets and the transformation of the global oil and gas industry, the power dynamics of geopolitical factors on the markets, discussed the potential for cooperation and innovation for an efficient transition to a low-carbon economy.

During the discussion, the governors of federal entities exchanged views on a number of issues pressing for the regions

During the panel discussion, the participants also talked about sharing of the best practices already proven in the regions.

Tatarstan President spoke about the experience of the republic.

He gave an example of the implementation of a programme on the improvement of the urban environment, a project for the construction and renovation of city parks and public gardens. According to him, such work has been implementing in the region for several years. During this time, over 300 facilities, in particular parks, squares and riversides were constructed and reconstructed in the regions of Tatarstan. This work helped to involve the public in the discussion.

Speaking about the support of small and medium businesses, Minnikhanov also mentioned about the work of the exchange platform. According to him, the main task for today is the development of human resources and specialists training. Tatarstan President invited the participants of the session to WorldSkills Competition 2019 to be held in Kazan in August of the current year.
