More than a million of Tatarstan citizens take part in the cleaning and ecological two-month campaign

On June 5, speaking at a briefing at the Government House of the republic on results of the cleaning and ecological two-month campaign, Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the republic reported that more than a million of citizens of the republic took part in the event in 2019.

Last year, 1 million 168 thousand residents of the republic were involved in the campaign.

According to the Minister, since the beginning of the two-month campaign 3,700 appeals were sent to the public environmental reception office through numerous communication channels to address environmental issues.

As many as 13,500 units of equipment were used, more than 565,000 cubic meters of waste were taken to landfills during the campaign. Moreover, 1 million trees and shrubs were planted, children's playgrounds, bus stations and container platforms were improved, the Minister reported.
