Rustam Minnikhanov takes part in a meeting held by Russian President on housing construction

On June 4, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov paid a working visit to Moscow to take part in a meeting with the Russian Government members held by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The meeting focused on raising funds from citizens beginning on July 1, 2019, to build housing using escrow accounts. Russian Minister of Construction, Housing and Utilities Vladimir Yakushev and Director General of the DOM.RF joint stock company Alexander Plutnik made their reports at the meeting.

Minnikhanov reported on the situation in Tatarstan. He noted that balance commissions were held with all builders. The construction of 149 houses will be completed according to the old rules.  As many as 66 residential buildings will be built under the new project financing. Four more houses are under special control.

Tatarstan President reported that currently 16 banks are working with escrow accounts in the republic. Nine financial institutions have received 106 applications. Six contracts have already been concluded with construction companies.

At the same time, Minnikhanov noted the lack of experience in working with escrow accounts both among builders and a number of banks.
