On June 3, during his working trip to the Republic of Finland, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikanov visited a new children’s hospital in Helsinki.

A representative of the hospital administration told Minnikhanov about the work of the medical facility.

The children's hospital in Helsinki is part of the medical institutions of the hospital district of Helsinki and Uusimaa. New advanced technology of treatment, diagnostic and rehabilitation in the field of cardiac surgery and organ transplantation have been introduced there.

The hospital is designed in such a way that parents could be directly involved in the process of treating children. They also have the opportunity to live in the hospital in separate buildings, thereby remaining with their children as long as possible.

Children are treated in their wards and they do not have to attend other departments. This children's hospital won the prestigious Finlandia Prize for Architecture.

The hospital is an 8-storey building. There is an activity room, where children have their own mini-hospital, with toys playing the role of patients, on one of the floors. There is a toy medical equipment, other "instruments" necessary for treatment there. Children can put on white coats and become doctors for a while. This is done so that small patients adapt to the conditions of the medical facility as quickly as possible.

A delegation of the Ministry of Health of Tatarstan also visited the hospital to learn from the experience of the Finnish colleagues. It is assumed that the experience gained in studying the concept of construction and the latest diagnostic and treatment technologies in the new children's hospital in Helsinki will then be used in the construction of large medical facilities in Tatarstan.
