On June 2, at their meeting with Mayor of Helsinki Jan Vapaavuori in the Helsinki City Hall, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that Tatarstan is interested in studying the experience of Finnish colleagues in the different branches such as agriculture, the development of small and medium-sized businesses, in innovation, education and in environmental protection.
“I am glad to visit your beautiful city again,” Minnikhanov said, addressing Vapaavuori. He said that he often visits Helsinki and noted that Finland is a very innovative and open country.
Minnikhanov also said that this time Tatarstan delegation arrived at the invitation of Acting Finnish Minister of Economic Affairs Mika Lintila to take part in the World Circular Economy Forum 2019.
According to Minnikhanov, it is important to develop cooperation in the area of culture, science, education and tourism.
We maintain ties between our universities, the exchange of students and teachers, he said.
According to Minnikhanov, today the advanced experience of Finland in the area of education, in particular, secondary education is in demand in many countries of the world.
“Today, we are planning to visit a Helsinki Children’s Hospital and to look around the exposition of the National Museum of Finland. I am sure that the cooperation of Tatarstan with Finland will actively develop in the future,” Tatarstan President said.
