On May 24, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov visited the exhibition under the 2nd All-Russian Festival “Architectural Heritage 2019” held at the Kazan Kremlin on May 22-26.
Union of Architects of Russia and Tatarstan Government are the organizers of the festival held under the theme “The historic city: Reboot of the space”.
Minnikhanov together with President of the Union Nikolay Shumakov got acquainted with the stands of participants taking part in the contest “Russian regions”. The participants showed the examples of preservation, efficient use of architectural monuments, the development of city-planning formations and landscape art, the establishment of new life in historic settlements, the preservation of elements of the natural landscape and the identification of problematic issues of heritage preservation in the Russian regions.
The Samara region, Bashkortostan, Karelia, the Primorsky Territory and other Russian regions became the contest participants.
Minnikhanov and his entourage also looked around modern materials and technologies introduced at the exhibition and used in the restoration of architectural monuments and preservation of architectural heritage facilities.
According to Shumakov, today the country is solving such a complex issue as preservation, restoration, reconstruction of architectural facilities.
The festival is held with the support of Russian Ministry of Culture, Tatarstan Ministry of Construction, Architecture, Housing and Utilities, the Union of Restorers of Russia, Tatarstan Committee on the Protection of Cultural Heritage Sites, the Revival Regional Foundation, the Russian Academy of Architecture and Construction Sciences and many other organizations.
The main mission is to identify, develop and preserve.
