On May 20, at Tatneft Arena Ice Palace, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in the opening of the final stage of the 7th Young Professionals (WorldSkills Russia) Competition.
On 21-23 May, at Kazan Expo International Exhibition Centre in Kazan, young professionals will compete in 91 skills and 23 high-tech skills included in Future Skills. WorldSkills Juniors will compete in 48 skills.
As many as 1513 competitors, 152 of which are foreign and 363 are juniors, will takes part in the final stage of the championship and 1,274 compatriot experts will officiate the event.
Addressing participants, Minnikhanov noted that these competitions are a dress rehearsal before a big event, which will be held in Kazan this August – WorldSkills Competition. “You are our hope! The winners will represent our country in WorldSkills Competition. I am sure that the championship at Kazan Expo site will be held in the best manner possible,” Minnikhanov said.
Tatarstan President thanked the WorldSkills Organizing Committee, which determined the capital of Tatarstan as a venue to host the world championship in the intense competition in 2015. Minnikhanov also expressed his recognition to Russian President Vladimir Putin and the Government of Russia for supporting this initiative.
