Rustam Minnikhanov arrives on a working visit in Astrakhan

On April 13, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov arrived on a working visit in the Astrakhan region to meet Acting Governor of the region Sergey Morozov and discuss prospects for the development of trade, economic and humanitarian cooperation.

To date, the trade turnover between the regions exceeds 500 million roubles. Tatarstan supplies cars and trucks, synthetic rubbers, sheet glass, medicine, medical instruments, equipment and food. The Astrakhan region delivers fish products, salt and pastry to the republic.

On November 2018, in Kazan, Tatarstan and the Astrakhan region signed an agreement on trade, economic, scientific, technical and socio-cultural cooperation. During the current visit of Minnikhanov to the region, it is supposed to supplement this document with an Action Plan for 2019-2021.

Tatarstan President will also hold a meeting with Tatar public organizations of the Astrakhan region. Today, over 60,000 Tatars live in the region.
