Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Kozak: KAMAZ is well prepared to celebrate its 50th anniversary

On April 10, during his working visit to Naberezhnye Chelny, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Kazak, who was accompanied by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Mayor of Naberezhnye Chelny Nail Magdeev and Director General of KAMAZ Automaker Sergey Kogogin, said that KAMAZ is well prepared to celebrate its 50th anniversary and has completely renewed production facilities.

Upon his arrival in Naberezhnye Chelny, Kozak was shown around the improved city, in particular, visited the Gabdulla Tukay embankment. The Deputy Prime Minister of Russia was informed about the activities being carried out as part of developing a comfortable urban environment and introducing new methods in working with public spaces. Kozak and Minnikhanov also visited the Victory Park, where they laid flowers at the monument to the soldiers who were killed during the World War II.

Then, the Deputy Prime Minister of Russia together with the regional leadership visited the KAMAZ plant, where they got acquainted with the renewed production facilities. Kozak also looked around a new plant for the production of cabin frames, which is scheduled for launch on the 27th of May this year. Up to 55,000 cabins are planned to be produced at this plant every year. Moreover, Kozak was shown a new model range of KAMAZ trucks.

“Today Naberezhnye Chelny and the city-forming enterprise are ready to hold a holiday. It is beyond my expectations. New modern plants for the production of engines, gearboxes are operating. For the past five years, KAMAZ, in close cooperation with the state, has worked enthusiastically on solving these tasks. New facilities are launched. Thus, a plant for the production of cabins is planned to be opened in May. I think that the plant personnel has much to be proud of,” Kozak told journalists.

Minnikhanov noted that more than 70 events timed to coincide with the anniversary of the automaker are planned in Naberezhnye Chelny this year. “Every resident of the city should note positive changes, inclulding roads, health care, education, culture and sports facilities. KAMAZ is preparing for its anniversary date well. The plant features a new model range, an engine, a new cabin frame plant. We are pleased with these changes,” Tatarstan President emphasized.

Later on the same day, Kozak had a meeting with KAMAZ-master team, the winner of the Dakar-2019 rally marathon.
