Thus, state land inspectors revealed 75 thousand hectares of unused agricultural lands, the best part of which are located in Verzhneuslonsky region.

In accordance with legislation, inspectors issue prescriptions to owners of land plots on correcting the deficiencies and using the land for agricultural work. In case it is not used within three years, information is passed on to municipality for preparing legal confiscation claim.

Attendees of the briefing noted that since last year amendments in legislation have made land confiscation regulations and procedures more concrete. At the same time, local authorities must address courts more actively claiming confiscation of land plots.

Information about cases when local authorities make illegal decisions about changing the order of using agricultural lands to permit house building was heard at the briefing. By the way, such decisions can be made only by the republican government. Therefore, actions of municipal authorities were found illegal and cancelled.
