On April 3, during his working visit to Copenhagen, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with senior executives of Danfoss Company.

We are interested in further cooperation and learning from the Danish experience in the field of cost-effective use of resources and effective energy strategy, Minnikhanov said.

He reminded that Danfoss offers technical solutions for various projects in Tatarstan. In particular, the programme to overhaul apartment buildings, that has been implemented since 2008, the programme to abandon central heat distribution stations and other important projects are among them.

Besides, it was noted that Danfoss is developing the software necessary to improve the energy infrastructure of Tatarstan.

According to Minnikhanov, deeper integration is needed today. It is also important to continue cooperation in the field of education so that future specialists of the power sector know new technology and materials from leading global companies.

The meeting discussed issues of localization of production facilities of Danfoss Company. The representatives of the company reported that today about 80 per cent of the equipment produced is located in Russia.

The representatives of Danfoss continued that they regard Tatarstan as a key partner for their further development in Russia. We want Tatarstan to become the first region where Danfoss will implement its digital solutions, President of the company Lars Tween said.

He told the meeting in more detail about the project of smart grids and in particular about the introduction of the “smart thermal network” in Naberezhnye Chelny.

According to Minnikhanov, today such projects are relevant for cities with large losses of heat in the networks during transportation.

The representatives of Danfoss also informed Minnikhanov about their projects using cloud technologies (software for managing, modeling and optimizing the hydraulic modes of thermal power plants), as well as the project of metering the supplied heat as part of the global energy efficiency system.

It was noted at the meeting, that Danfoss will also take part in the energy efficiency forum to be held in Kazan on April 10-12 this year.
