On April 3, speaking at the Tatarstan – Denmark round table held at the venue of the Confederation of Danish Industries, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that this round table with the participation of the Danish business community is an opportunity to find out more about the existing potential for expanding mutually beneficial ties.
Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Denmark Vladimir Barbin and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Denmark's foreign trade Suzanne Hyuldelund took part in the event.
Welcoming the participants and guests of the round table, Minnikhanov thanked the Embassy, the Trade Representation of Russia and the leadership of the Confederation of Danish Industries for the organization of the visit.
“We are interested in attracting Danish business and capital to Tatarstan and ready to provide all possible assistance. We expect that during the conversations, business circles will discover new areas for interaction and agree on joint projects,” Minnikhanov said.
Tatarstan President said that the Danish business is successfully developing its activities in Tatarstan.
In particular, the equipment of the Danish Danfoss company in the area of resource and energy saving is successfully used in the region.
The enterprises of the petrochemical complex of Tatarstan and regional universities also interact with Haldor Topsoe Company.
An important area of Tatarstan-Danish cooperation is the work of the ROCKWOOL Company, which launched one of the largest non-combustible materials manufacturing plants in Europe in the Alabuga Special Economic Zone in 2012.
We are open for cooperation with the Danish business and we hope that bilateral visits will be increased. This will open up new opportunities for joint business, Minnikhanov said.
Barbin reported that the trade turnover between Russia and Denmark amounted to 5 billion US dollars in 2018 and increased by 30 per cent. The accumulated volume of Danish investment in Russia amounted to more than 1.5 billion US dollars.
During the round table, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic – Regional Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov made a presentation of the trade and economic potential of Tatarstan.
A number of agreements were signed during the event, in particular, the Agreement on the development of cooperation between Tatarstan Government and Haldor Topsoe Company, the Agreement on cooperation between the Kazan National Research Technological University and Haldor Topsoe Company and the Agreement on the establishment of the Danfoss Competence Centre (the Kazan State Power Engineering University).
