Its former name is Philips Lighting.

The Philips still remains the global brand. The company operates in the market of both professional and consumer devices and upgrades urban spaces, working places, stadiums, buildings, shopping centres and homes.

The Signify produces 70 per cent of all LED products in the world. The number of employees was over 29,000 people at the beginning of 2019. About 75 per cent of sales accounted for professional lighting in 2018. The company also owns 27,750 patents.

Environmental sustainability is one of the core Signify’s activities.

During the meeting with representatives of senior managers of the Signify, Minnikhanov got acquainted with the concept of unified light environment in the city of Kazan, which will contribute to the harmonization of urban lighting.

Buildings and the most interesting central facilities, including the Central Stadium, the Kazan City Hall, the building of the Cabinet of Ministers of Tatarstan and streets in the historical part of the city, the Millennium Bridge, the so-called architectural landmark of the city can be integrated in a single lighting solution.

According to Tatarstan President, the project is interesting for Kazan, especially during the preparation and celebration of the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Tatar Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic (TASSR). He proposed to work out the project, divide its implementation into several stages and get back to the presentation and further discussion.

The Signify has already implemented a number of projects in Tatarstan, in particular the Kazan Family Centre, 15 sports facilities built for the Summer Universiade 2013 and a television tower in Nizhnekamsk.
