Farid Mukhametshin welcomes participants of international conference “Eurasian union: ambitions, problems, prospects”

International conference “Eurasian union: ambitions, problems, prospects” is held in Kazan under the auspice of special envoy of the RF President on relations with CIS countries Konstantin Kosachev , RF State Duma and RF Ministry of foreign affairs. Chairman of RT State Council Farid Mukhametshin welcomed participants of the forum on behalf of the Tatarstan leadership.
About 100 people take part in the conference. Among them are members of the Russian and foreign parliaments, diplomats, representatives of executive authorities, international organizations, business, public organizations, experts. Two section discussions (political-legal and economic aspects of creating Eurasian union), round table on humanitarian aspects of Eurasian integration, and three plenary sessions will be held within the framework of Kazan forum. The event is held at the exhibition center Kazanskaya Yarmarka.
Section discussions are chaired by Vasily Likhachev (member of Committee on CIS of the RF State Duma, doctor of law), Elena Panina (Head of Russian delegation in Interparliamentary Assembly of Eurasian economic cooperation, doctor of economics), Alexandr Fomenko (Secretary of board of RF Union of writers, advisor to chairman of the Central Election Commission).
Chairman of RT State Council Farid Mukhametshin addressed the audience with welcoming speech. He noted that participation of such distinguished, influential and competent people is honorable for republic.
Today’s discussion focuses on political, legal, economic and humanitarian aspects of further integration of states having common goals, tasks and problems of development and increase of competitiveness, in supranational structure - Eurasian union. He believes that these issues become more urgent, since in the period of post-crisis development we should be looking for efficient tools for economic growth.
Farid Mukhametshin read out greetings of the Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov:
“Tatarstan actively supports policy of the Russian leadership in terms of utmost promotion of uniting processes in Eurasia. We are in diversified partnership relationships with Kazakhstan and Belarus. Economic relations of Tatarstan with many Eurasian countries and regions are intensively developing. Culture makes great contribution in integration processes. Community of history, similarity of traditions creates strong foundation for mutual enrichment of cultures. We are proud that Tatarstan has become home for thousands of people from many Eurasian countries. We will do our best to enhance cooperation within the Eurasian union.”
