On April 1, at the Government House of the republic, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov held a meeting on establishing new multilingual educational complexes in the republic.

Speaking at the meeting, Minnikhanov noted that Tatarstan pays great attention to the issues of effective educational technology and modern types of educational facilities. “It is important to us that children know their native languages and at least one foreign language. To that end, an appropriate system should be established and a methodology should be developed. We talked a lot about improving the system of learning languages, especially native ones. Therefore, I fully support the initiative of the Revival Regional Foundation. Mintimer Shaimiev has raised the issue to the point. On the basis of data of educational complexes, we will improve the entire system of our education,” Minnikhanov emphasized. He added that this project has already been supported by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“The educational system should meet the requirements of a modern society, economic structures, science and technology. This task is important not only for Tatarstan, but for the entire Russian society. We have already taken the first steps. It is important that we implement this project at existing educational facilities. I think this is a win-win project, because facilities of the education sector of the republic are at a high level,” Tatarstan State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev, who also took part in the meeting, said.

The meeting exchanged views on establishing a model of a modern multilingual educational complex. The issues of formation, financing and staffing of a network of educational organizations were considered as well.
