On March 31, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, who arrived on a working visit in the Kingdom of Bahrain, visited the Bahrain International Investment Park (BIIP).
Established by Bahrain Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, the BIIP is a business park covering a total of 247 hectares and located close to Bahrain International Airport and the Sheikh Khalifa bin Salman Port.
The BIIP is aimed at attracting export-oriented companies involved in manufacturing and providing services in the international market. The target market for the BIIP is local, regional and international companies wishing to develop production or international services.
Minnikhanov got acquainted with the opportunities of the business park, the stages of its development and future prospects.
Later on the same day, at their meeting, Minnikhanov and Sheikh Hamad bin Ebrahim Al-Khalifa discussed the opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation. Tatarstan President thanked Sheikh Hamad bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa. for his hospitality and attention paid to the development of cooperation with Tatarstan as part of Russian-Bahraini relations.
Answering the questions from journalists, Minnikhanov said that such industrial parks as the BIIP “provide a good foundation for economic development”. According to him, such venues give investors the opportunity to find new directions for business. Minnikhanov also said that Tatarstan is a major producer of agricultural products in Russia and this could be one of the areas for joint projects. The next area for cooperation can become the oil production and refining and petrochemistry. “These areas can be interesting for joint projects,” Tatarstan President said.
Minnikhanov also emphasized that Bahraini colleagues always give warm welcome to Tatarstan delegations.
