On March 26, in Kazan, Acting Tatarstan President Aleksey Pesohin and Head of Tatarstan Department of the Federal National Guard Troops Service Rustem Gumerov took part in a ceremony dedicated to the Day of the Russian Federation National Guard Troops.
“We can talk a lot about the history of the National Guard Troops starting from the origin of the establishment of a single internal guard corps in princely Rus to the transformation of the internal troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia into the the National Guard Troops of the Russian Federation in 2016. However, it should be noted that the main task was and remains to maintain the internal order in the state,” Pesoshin said in his speech.
He stressed that for more than two decades military units and subunits, currently part of the Federal National Guard Troops, have successfully accomplished the tasks assigned to them.
Acting Tatarstan President added that the Russian National Guard Troops have a powerful personnel and technical potential, and are well-equipped mobile units with considerable combat experience. Officers of the private security service, special purpose police unit and special purpose mobile units save lives, assist people in trouble, apprehend criminals almost every day.
“I am sure that the staff of the Russian National Guard Troops, looking up to the achievements of respected veterans, will continue to keep traditions alive and enrich them, and improve their professional skills,” Pesoshin concluded.
