Rustam Minnikhanov pays a working visit to Naberezhnye Chelny

On February 25, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov arrived on a working visit in Naberezhnye Chelny to take part in a meeting of City Council on the results of social and economic development of the city in 2018 and tasks for 2019.

Upon his arrival, Minnikhanov together with Mayor of Naberezhnye Chelny Nail Magdeev and other officials visited a number of industrial facilities.

The first place of his visit became KAMAZ press-frame factory, where the project on localization of aluminium fuel tanks for new models of Kamaz project is being implemented.

Opened in 2017, the project is aimed at producing the aluminium fuel tanks that will substitute the tanks, which are currently being delivered from Austria. This will be another step in implementing the strategy of import substitution.

The launch of serial manufacturing is scheduled for the second quarter of 2019.

During his working visit, Tatarstan President also visited training and technology centre of Kamaz Engine Plant and the overhauled and refurnished police station №1 “Avtozavodskiy” in Naberezhnye Chelny.

Later on the same day, Minnikhanov took part in the meeting of City Council of Naberezhnye Chelny.

Before the meeting, Tatarstan President and his entourage visited the exhibition of the products of enterprises and companies operating in Naberezhnye Chelny.
