Rustam Minnikhanov: Saby region has a competitive advantage for the entrepreneurship development

On February 25, speaking at a summing up meeting of the Council of Saby municipal region on the results of social and economic development of the region in 2018, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that the region has major advantages for the development of entrepreneurship.

Minnikhanov emphasized that the share of small and medium enterprises in the economy of Saby region amounts to 35 per cent.

“You have all the opportunities to increase this indicator to 50 per cent. You are just an hour away from Kazan. A railway road passes through the area and there are two railway stations, namely, Shemordan and Ishtugan. It is necessary to take advantage of the benefits, attract investors and support local entrepreneurs,” Tatarstan President said. 

Minnikhanov emphasized that special attention is paid to the Rural Support Programme in Tatarstan. This year, 40 different programmes will be implemented in the republic, more than half of which are aimed at developing villages and small settlements. This year Saby region will take part in 25 programmes. 

He also noted high rates of the region in education. The Saby region is in the top five in the regional rating.

Making a keynote report, Head of the Saby region Rais Minnikhanov said that 18,000 square meters of housing were commissioned in the region in previous years. This year the task is to increase this indicator to 23,000.

Head of the region also said that the Saby region ranks sixth in the regional rating in healthcare. The head instructed the leadership of the local hospital to expand the list of unique, high-quality medical services, to attract highly qualified specialists and to provide the Internet to the medical and obstetric centres for the implementation of the telemedicine system.

Rais Minnikhanov added that the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation approved the application for the establishment of the Saba Industrial Park. This year it is planned to develop its infrastructure and to intensify efforts to attract residents.
