19.02.2019

On February 19, during his working visit to Munich (Germany), Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with Board Chairman of Linde Engineering, Member of the Executive Board of Linde AG Cristian Bruch.

Speaking at the meeting, Minnikhanov noted successful cooperation between Linde and the republic's petrochemical enterprises.

Tatarstan President reminded that in June 2017, at the St. Petersburg Economic Forum, an agreement was signed on designing a project by Linde to build a new ethylene complex at Nizhnekamskneftekhim facilities. Last year, at the same site, a 800 million Euro loan agreement was signed between a consortium of banks headed by Deutsche Bank and Tatarstan Nizhnekamskneftekhim to allocate funds to finance the project.

Director General of TAIF Production and Investment Company Albert Shigabutdinov, who also took part in the meeting, noted that the implementation of the project is progressing as planned.

In his turn, Bruch informed Tatarstan President that Linde opened an academy for training future specialists of the ethylene complex in Nizhnekamsk. More than 90 people have already undergone special courses.

As noted at the meeting, it is planned to proceed with construction of the new facility this autumn. The project will be implemented in four stages. As a result, two new complexes for the production of 600,000 tonnes of ethylene will appear in the republic.
