Farid Mukhametshin: International festival of Jewish music successfully passed in Kazan

Gala concert of I International festival of Jewish music in Kazan was held at the Tatar state academic theatre named after G.Kamal.

Chairman of the State Council Farid Mukhametshin greeted participants and guests on behalf of the Tatarstan leadership. A famous Russian actor Boris Lvovich hosted the concert. The folk Orchestra of the Kazan state conservatoire opened the music program.

Head of the republican parliament Farid Mukhametshin thanked organizers of the festival saying that the musical forum made a considerable contribution in consolidation of interethnic concord and cultural development of Tatarstan the policy of which has always focused on harmonization of relationships among representatives of all nationalities and confessions.

Farid Mukhametshin promised that the idea to make the International festival of Jewish music in Kazan a traditional event was supported by the republican authorities.

Being the Head of the Tatarstan People’s Assembly, Farid Mukhametshin said that the Jewish community enjoys respectful attitude in Tatarstan. Its dynamic and well-coordinated work demonstrates good example for all city and republican national and cultural associations.

Farid Mukhametshin handed Letters of Gratitude of the State Council Chairman to the First Secretary of the Israel Embassy in Russia Shlomo Voskoboinik, Art Director of the festival Eduard Tumansky and Chairman of the Federal Jewish national-cultural autonomy of Russia Mikhail Skoblionok.

The Tatarstan Minister of culture Airat Sibagatullin, deputies of the republican parliament, representatives of Orthodox and Muslim clergy and officials attended the gala concert.

To the point, the musical forum took place in Kazan on June 4-6 under the auspices of the Tatarstan President. A number of striking concerts and master classes were held within the framework of the event.
