Rustam Minnikhanov: Zainsk municipal region is one of the leading municipalities of the republic

On February 6, speaking at the meeting of the Council of Zainsk municipal region on the results of social and economic development of the region in 2018 and tasks for 2019, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that Zainsk region is one of the most dynamically developing regions of the republic. 

He emphasized that Zainsk region ranks 16th in the rating of the socio-economic development of municipalities of the republic. The region ranks 7th in the amount of shipped goods of own production,  in terms of gross regional product the region ranks 10th place, in agricultural output it ranks 13th, in average wages in large and medium-sized enterprises the region takes 17th place and in housing construction it ranks 18th.

According to Tatarstan President, large industrial and agricultural enterprises are located in the region. The Akkurayd Company (manufacturing wheel products), Zainsky Sakhar Company (sugar production), Techno Plant Company (heat-insulating materials), AGROSILA Company (one of the largest agricultural holdings of the republic) and Zainsk State Regional Power Plant, which is the flagship of the Tatarstan power system are also located here. 

Tatarstan President noted that the agricultural complex of the region has dynamically developed for the last years. At the same time, in the reported year there was a decrease in milk production. The daily gross yield of milk is only 82 tonnes. “You have the potential for the development of this direction. Today, it is possible to produce up to 250 tonnes of milk per day. You do not have even 100 tons yet. There is room for the development of the region,” Minnikhanov emphasized. He also asked to pay special attention to the development of small farms in rural areas.

Tatarstan President added that the issues of the safe operation of domestic gas equipment have recently become relevant. He noted that these issues should be under control.

Making a keynote report, Head of Zainsk region Razif Karimov said that according to the results of 2018, the region has successfully implemented all key indicators. The volume of manufactured and shipped products amounted to 36.5 billion roubles, which is 37 per cent higher than the previous year. The industrial production index amounted to 125.9 per cent. “We managed to increase the budget revenue and fully implemented all social obligations. There has been a significant increase in such industries as energy, engineering, agriculture and others,” Karimov said.

According to Karimov, the construction remains a priority area. Last year, as many as 17,000 meters of housing were commissioned and 17 multi-apartment houses overhauled.

At the end of the meeting, Tatarstan President handed in state awards of the republic to the citizens of Zainsk region, who have made a significant contribution to the social and economic development of the region.
