On February 5, Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Maksim Akimov together with Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov visited the Kazan Helicopter Plant of the Russian Helicopters Holding Company (part of the Rostec State Corporation). The Deputy Prime Minister focused on the Ansat helicopter with a medical module, which was demonstrated during a tour of the holding around Southeast Asian countries in November 2018.
In the plant's assembly workshop, the Deputy Prime Minister was shown the Mi-38T helicopter designed for the Russian Ministry of Defence, and the Mi-38 for a commercial customer. The first helicopters of this type will be delivered in 2019. The Mi-8MTV-5 helicopter and the VIP-configured Ansat were also demonstrated to the Deputy Prime Minister.
Akimov was also informed about the digital transformation of the plant. The plant’s senior managers drew attention to the fact that digital innovations make it possible to shorten the time needed for the production of new equipment and to bring the cost of individual orders to the price of serial ones. During the presentation, it was noted that now it is necessary to actively solve the task of digitalization of after-sales service for helicopters.
