Rustam Minnikhanov: Auto racing has long traditions in Tatarstan

On December 19, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in the traditional ceremony dedicated to the closing of the 2018 autosport season, where the participants summed up the results of outgoing season and marked the best athletes of the republic.

Minnikhanov emphasized that auto racing has long traditions in Tatarstan. Today many disciplines of motor sport are developed in the republic: rally-raid, closed-circuit race, winter track races, rallycross, races on off-road buggies, etc.

Tatarstan racing drivers achieve significant results in Russian and international competitions, President of the republic said. He particularly emphasized the KAMAZ-Master team, which defends Russia's honor at the prestigious rally marathons.

The republic pays special attention to the development of children’s auto sport.

At the end of the meeting, Minnikhanov handed in state awards of Tatarstan to the most distinguished race drivers of this season.
