Rustam Minnikhanov: Tatarstan and the Kemerovo region are two economically powerful regions that should expand cooperation

On December 18, at the Kazan Kremlin, at his meeting with Governor of the Kemerovo region Sergey Tsivilev, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that Tatarstan and the Kemerovo region are two economically powerful regions of Russia that should develop comprehensive cooperation.

During their working visit to Tatarstan, representatives of the Kemerovo region got acquainted with the economic potential of the republic, visited a number of industrial enterprises and innovation centers. The guests visited the technopark in the sphere of high technology “IT Park”, Eidos – Medicine Centre and the Kazan Federal University.

Before the extended meeting, Minnikhanov and Tsivilev signed a cooperation agreement between Tatarstan and the Kemerovo region. The document envisages close interaction of the regions in the trade and economic, scientific and technical, social, cultural and other spheres. Minnikhanov emphasized that the visit of the Kemerovo delegation to the republic will give a good impetus to the development of relations. “We have many promising areas for interaction. We have already signed a cooperation agreement. Now we need to define a “road map” and an action plan for the next three years,” he said.

He asked to consider the issue of industrial cooperation between the regions, especially in the fields of chemistry and petrochemistry, engineering, medicine, pharmaceuticals and construction.

At the end of the meeting Tsivilev invited Minnikhanov to visit Kuzbass to get acquainted with the production potential of the region.
