Valentina Matvienko: The best practices of Tatarstan will be interesting to other entities of the Federation

On December 11, under the Days of Tatarstan in the Federation Council of Russian Federal Assembly, Chairman of the Federation  Council of the Federal Assembly of Russia Valentina Matvienko held a meeting with Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Chairman of Tatarstan State Council Farid Mukhametshin.

Matvienko and senior officials of the republic discussed issues of the socio-economic development of the region.

Matvienko noted that the presentation of the entity of the Federation in the Federation Council is a good opportunity to show achievements of the region and to discuss pressing issues at the federal level.

“Tatarstan is one of the leaders and a model region,” she said and added that the best practices of Tatarstan will be interesting to other entities of the Federation.

Minnikhanov also appreciated the practice when the region introduces itself in the Federation Council. “Any region has experience that may be useful for other entities of Russia,” he said.
