On December 3, during his working visit to Helsinki, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov together with his Aide Radik Gamatdinov, Minister of Culture of the republic Irada Ayupova and Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin visited a new Amos Rex Modern Art Museum.

Amos Rex, opened in the centre of the Finnish capital in August this year, was established from the Art Museum named after Amos Anderson, a famous patron and collector. The museum worked since 1965 and was known for a large collection of works of Finnish art of the 19th and 20th centuries.

Amos Rex is located in underground facilities of the Lasipalatasi city block. The exhibition programme of the new museum includes mobile exhibitions of modern and experimental art. The museum will also host exhibitions of ancient art. Here you can hold workshops, seminars and lectures.

Tatarstan President got acquainted with the premiere exhibition of the museum - the audiovisual installation of the TeamLab art group from Tokyo. These are four large-scale interactive installations, each representing separate work. TeamLab art is built on Japanese traditions and is a synthesis of art, modern technology and design.

Minnikhanov thanked the senior managers of the museum for the excursion, highly appreciated the experience of Amos Rex in improving the museum business and introducing new methods in work. The parties also discussed prospects for cooperation and exchange of experience.
