Rustam Minnikhanov: Following the visit of the Astrakhan delegation to Tatarstan, the joint work will be intensified

On November 29, in the Governor’s Palace of the Kazan Kremlin, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with Acting Governor of the Astrakhan region Sergey Morozov.

Immediately before the meeting, Minnikhanov and Morozov signed an agreement on trade, economic, scientific, technical, socio-cultural cooperation between the region and the republic.

The Action Plan for the implementation of a cooperation agreement will be prepared in the nearest future.

During the meeting, Minnikhanov wished Morozov successful work in the responsible post of the Governor of the Astrakhan Region. The appointment took place on September, 26 of the current year.

The Astrakhan region is a multinational region with dynamic economy, unique nature and ancient history, Minnikhanov said. He expressed confidence that following this visit, the joint work will be intensified.

Minnikhanov noted that significant industrial and scientific potential is concentrated in the Astrakhan region; high-tech industries and petrochemical industry are developing.

According to Tatarstan President, the trade turnover between Tatarstan and the Astrakhan region is not high and amounts to about half a billion roubles.

Our republic supplies cars and trucks, food, synthetic rubbers, sheet glass. The republic receives food products such as vegetables and tomato puree, fish and fish products, salt, pastry from the Astrakhan region, Minnikhanov said.

“We have great potential for cooperation. We are interested in the development of cooperation in the field of engineering and shipbuilding. We have good prospects for partnership in the petrochemical industry. We have established contacts on cooperation in the construction industry. We are ready to expand the supply of consumer goods and food,” Tatarstan President emphasized.

Minnikhanov also invited colleagues from the Astrakhan region to consider the possibility of using the federal trading e-platform “Zakar. RF”.

Tatarstan President also added that there is a potential on interaction in such area as fish breeding.

He also added that it is necessary to increase cooperation in the field of science and education, culture and youth policy.

In his turn, Morozov thanked for the fruitful working programme, compiled for the members of the Astrakhan delegation. They managed to see a lot.
