On November 26, during his working visit to London, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov held talks with senior executives of a number of British companies.
The tourism industry became the main topic of his talks with Senior Vice President of National Geographic Partners for Europe and Africa Annabelle Canwell. The world-famous company includes television channels, magazines, Internet resources, books, children's publications and travel magazines. Minnikhanov said that Tatarstan is a popular tourist destination in Russia, with more than 3 million guests including foreign ones visiting the republic annually. Tatarstan President told Canwell about the tourism infrastructure and hospitality in the republic. Minnikhanov and Canwell discussed possible areas of cooperation, in particular those that are aimed at promoting the tourist potential of Tatarstan using National Geographic media platforms.
Then, Minnikhanov had a meeting with senior managers of Precision Decisions Ltd, a company specializing in innovative technology in the field of agriculture. The company has become one of the developers of the Hands Free Hectare project - a robotic farm, where all work to grow grain crops is performed by tractors and drones. The machines are operated from the control room. According to experts, the automation processes in the field of agriculture are boosting due to the fact that the introduction of artificial intelligence technology brings significant savings in the future.
Tatarstan President noted that the republic is following the best international experience in agriculture, trying to use advanced machinery and innovative technology on its fields. Minnikhanov invited representatives of Precision Decisions Ltd to Tatarstan and offered to look into the possibility of implementing joint projects.
The prospects for investment cooperation were discussed at his meeting with managers of the United Green Group. The British investment group is known for its successful projects in power engineering, automotive industry, food production and other areas. Minnikhanov told them about the investment potential of the republic, the development of appropriate infrastructure. He noted that Tatarstan industrial parks are sites that are fully prepared for investors. The parties agreed to set up working groups to work out various options for interaction.
Minnikhanov also met representatives of Visit Britain Company, which is engaged in the promotion of the UK national tourism product through a variety of advertising tourist attractions and marketing campaigns. The parties discussed plans to share experience.
