Minnikhanov and Head of a Chinese chemical company discuss cooperation in the field of mineral fertilizers

On November 21, at their meeting at the Government House of the republic, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and a delegation of Chinese Sichuan Golden Elephant Sincerity Chemical Company (SGESC) discussed various options for the development of cooperation in the field of mineral fertilizers, in particular, prospects for the development of joint projects.

SGESC specializes in the production of chemical items and mineral fertilizers. It supplies nitrate fertilizers, ammonia, ammonium nitrate, nitric acid, hydrogen peroxide, and carbamide to the markets. The company is also the world leader in the production of melamine. SGESC is listed in the ranking of the largest enterprises in the chemical industry of China.

Minnikhanov noted that Tatarstan is actively cooperating with the provinces of China, including Sichuan, where SGESC was founded. Joint economic projects are implemented with a number of companies from China, including Haier (household appliances), Weichai Power (engine production), Huawei (info-communication technologies) and other partners.

Tatarstan President noted that the petrochemical complex is the main sector of the regional industry. Special attention is paid to the development of the gas chemical industry. The Ammonia Complex, which produces ammonium nitrate, ammonia, urea and methanol, operates in Tatarstan, he said.

At the end of the meeting, Board Chairman of Sichuan Golden Elephant Sincerity Chemical Lei Lin invited Minnikhanov to visit the city of Meishan, the largest centre for the production of chemical products in China.
