Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Volga Federal District Igor Komarov visits the city of Innopolis

On November 14, Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Volga Federal District Igor Komarov together with Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov visited the city of Innopolis, where they got acquainted with the Popov Technopark, the University of Innopolis, a sports complex, a lyceum and a kindergarten.

Mayor Ruslan Shagaleev introduced the potential of the city.

“Our great desire is to make the new city of Innopolis the IT capital of Russia,” he told the guests.

Innopolis has an advantageous location on the map of Russia, Shagaleev noted. The city of Innopolis consists of three components, in particular, a comfortable environment, IT-university and the Innopolis Special Economic Zone.

Director General of the Innopolis Special Economic Zone Renat Halimov reported on the results of its work. He noted that Technopolis is a key part of the SEZ. Now, it is filled to 70 per cent and it is planned to attract more investors during the first three quarters of the next year. As many as 78 investors are operating there and investments amounted to 5.8 billion roubles. The residents of the zone created 1,479 jobs.

The income of the Innopolis SEZ should reach 177 billion roubles by 2024, the volume of investments will amount to 27.5 billion roubles, Halimov added.
