On November 15, during his working visit to Guangdong Province (China), Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov visited Beiqi Foton Motor - one of the country's largest automobile plants.
Beiqi Foton Motor is Chinese state-owned company, which designs and manufactures trucks, buses, sport utility vehicles and agricultural machinery. Founded in 1996, the company has produced and sold a total of more than 8 million cars.
Beiqi Foton Motor has 10 factories in China with a production capacity of 1.5 million cars per year, as well as five factories outside China, producing up to 200,000 cars.
Minnikhanov was shown samples of vehicles produced by Beiqi Foton Motor, including trucks, intercity, public and school buses in various configurations and looked around the production lines.
At his meeting with senior executives of Beiqi Foton Motor, Minnikhanov was informed that Foton Motor Company has been representing the Chinese automaker in Russia since 2009.
Tatarstan President noted that Beiqi Foton Motor is one of the leaders in the automobile industry in China and has proved itself in the international market of commercial vehicles.
The meeting considered various options for the development of cooperation, in particular, in the gas fuel market.
