Rustam Minnikhanov meets Deputy Secretary-General of the People's Provincial Government of Guangdong

On November 15, during his working visit to China, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with Deputy Secretary-General of the People's Provincial Government of Guangdong Lin Ji.

Minnikhanov noted that today Russian-Chinese relations are at a high level. The leaders of the countries Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping pay special attention to strengthening of interregional cooperation, therefore Tatarstan and the Guangdong province have good prospects for the development of cooperation, he emphasized.

According to Tatarstan President, Guangdong is one of the largest and leading provinces of China, a powerful educational and economic centre. He thanked the provincial authorities for their attention to the issues of cooperation with Tatarstan.

Minnikhanov said that Tatarstan delegation included the heads of ministries and departments, representatives of the largest enterprises of the republic. “I hope that during the visit, we will open new areas for cooperation and agree on joint projects,” he added.

Lin Ji welcomed the representatives of the Tatarstan delegation in Guangdong Province. He noted the high prospects for increasing cooperation between the two regions.   

The Secretary informed that for 29 years, Guangdong Province ranks first in industrial production in China. In 2017, this indicator was 1.4 trillion US dollars . Guangdong is also a leading foreign trade region of China. Last year, the province’s total imports and exports exceeded one trillion US dollars.

According to Lin Ji, the regions should strengthen cooperation in the economic and industrial sectors and also in the humanitarian sphere, in particular, education and culture.
