On November 13, during his working visit to Tatarstan, Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Volga Federal District Igor Komarov together with Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Director General of the Alabuga SEZ Timur Shagivaleev visited the Alabuga Special Economic Zone.
Shagivaleev told the guest about the infrastructure and opportunities the Alabuga SEZ offers to its residents. In October this year, the Alabuga was listed in the rating of the world's best special economic zones according to the fDi Intelligence magazine (Financial Times group) for the fourth time. Shagivaleev also told Komarov about promising strategic projects implemented at the Alabuga.
Komarov visited the production site of the Alabuga's largest resident - Ford Sollers, which produces Ford Transit, Ford Explorer and Ford Kuga cars and 1.6 Sigma engines in the Alabuga.
Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy also looked around the Kastamonu plant producing MDF boards. The company is one of the leaders of the Russian woodworking industry and is included in the rating of the 200 largest Russian exporters. The production output of Kastamonu makes 837.2 thousand cubic meters per year. About 60 per cent of its products are sold in Russia, and the remaining 40 per cent are exported to more than 20 countries in Asia and Europe.
Summing up his visit, Komarov noted the investment potential and the scale of the Alabuga Special Economic Zone.
